The tale of the Persian Princess with gloomy eyes, opened up a tie from the ties of the “Red Room” series.
Soraya Esfandiari, the second queen of Mohamad Reza Shah Pahlavi, helped Alia, the depressed woman in the Red Room series to seize her psychological problems.
While the series of “Swear on my Honor” broadcasted the voice of Mohamad Esfahani (the Iranian singer) for the mass audiences of the Turkish series in one of its episodes, now the tail of beautiful Persian Princess seems familiar to them as well.
It’s about the strange life of Alia: a lonely girl who lives in her grandmother’s royal palace and suffering from her loneliness. This loneliness finally puts Alia in a position to refer to the Red Room to heal her psychological problems.
The tail has started from the life of Fawzia. The Egyptian queen of Mohamad Reza Shah whom because she couldn’t make it to have a boy from Shah, she obliged to leave the palace. This bitter story seems unacceptably normal in the sight of the royal family! Like the only duty if the queen is to have a boy from Shah! Now it turns to the life of Soraya which is almost the same. The beautiful queen with gloomy, yet beautiful eyes. She described as the gloomy queen by the historians. Although she had a romantic relationship with the king, she forced to leave the palace due to this fact that she was infertile!
Alia, with her kind heart and kind eyes resembles so much to the Queen Soraya, whom she used to donate all her 6 million dollars wealth to the charities in the last years of her life.
The name of Soraya is not unknown for the audiences of cinema and television. Since when she left the Persian royal palace, she moved to Italy and get in touch with the Italian director Franco Indovina whom he proposed her to became an actress while she was the queen, but Mohamad Reza Shah refused to accept. She kept in touch with him again and used to play a role in a movie called: three faces of a woman. They fell in love and experienced a romantic relationship for a very short period of time because Franco lost his life in a plane crush when he was only 39 years old. After this bitter incident, Soraya continued her life in isolation and very detached from the world, until she passed away in 2001 at the age of 69 in Paris and buried in a cemetery in Munich. Her brother Bijan Esfandiari also passed away only on week later!
Now this strange yet very attractive figure whom she left the royal palace and majesty and dedicated herself to her passions for art and cinema comes to help Alia in the Red Room series to help her with seizing her problems.
In the other hand, this serie puts the name of Princess Soraya in tounge of the Turkish medias again. For instance, The Taqvim website wrote an article about her life which includes some pictures from Queen Soraya and Shah Mohamad Reza as well.
